Liver Function Tests ( 11 )

LFT Profile : includes 11  tests that screens proteins and liver enzymes to get the overall picture of liver working condition.

Alanine aminotransferase (ALT/SGPT) : This is an enzyme found in the cell of the liver,when the liver is damaged ALT is released into the blood.

Alkaline phosphatase (ALP):damaged liver cells release more amount of ALP into the blood.

Albumin : It is protein made by liver,the level of Albumin helps to diagnose any liver diseases,this test also measure how well it make the required protein for the body.

Aspartate aminotransferase (AST/SGOT):is a liver enzyme to that is useful in diagnose liver disease.

Bilirubin, Direct: This is produced in the body when old red blood cells are broken down,bilirubin attached to sugar is called direct.

Bilirubin, Indirect: that is not attached to sugar is called indirect.

Bilirubin Total :this test screens the indirect and direct levels of bilirubin for a total bilirubin value,incase of excess bilirubin,the liver cannot process the bilirubin in the body, the skin and whites of your eyes will start to yellow causing a condition of jaundice.

Globulin : is a protein produced in the liver that helps  immune system to fight infection.lower level of globulin can be a sign of liver damage.

Total Protein : This test helps to diagnose liver diseases,this test measures the amount of protein in blood,the two protein the albumin and globulin.
