What purifier should you choose?
Answer these few steps question and we help you choose the right purifier for your family Are you located at metro cities ?
if yes then you should get a UV filter . Like the one show below
HUL Pureit Classic G2 UV+ 4 Stage Table Top/Wall Mountable White & Blue Tankless Water Purifier
So what are these multi-stages that manufacture talks about?
Let me tell you those are bogus and a money making raket as the cartilages get clogged up after few months by dust particles or their own cartilages fail for purpose like the one which has charcoal in it. They loose their bonding and get clogged up the supply thus making you call a technician.
Why am i saying its bogus ?
Earlier in days when we use to drink boil water the dust gets settled down in the utensil or matka. And we drink those water safely. UV filter just kill the bacteria and virus like boiling water does. That's it. You don't need any other cartilages but these manufacture are in business because people are made to think that the water they drink has to have as many stages that it can get. The more the stages the more the chances of getting clogged. Win win situation for purifier manufactures and most people are falling for their trap.
If you are a DIY kind of person you could just build it with these thing easily ,
Or you could purchase the one below as after the cartilages get clogged up, you could get rid of it and use it with just UV water filtration. It would just be like water is boiled. As this has a frame you could hang it easily in your home.
So what is a UV filter ? [In Detail]
It basically kills the bacteria and virus in your water using the UV ultraviolet light. The uv light basically breaks their outer membrane just like soap breaks the membrane of any virus. here light is used for the purpose.
How does it look like ?
Are you located at village or a non metro cities ?
Ans: If the answer is yes then you should get a RO + UV water filter like the one show below. Why is ro required with UV then u will ask me?
Ans : Ro is basically a process which pushes the water through very small nano holes which is smaller than a bacteria or virus thus filtering them. SO what happens is the UV kills the bacteria and virus by say 99% these 1% of bacteria or virus will be blocked in the RO process. The water that is hard to pass will get out via other outlet. It also doesn't allow any chemical compound to pass through it. Which can be minerals or any hard metal that is dissolved in your water. So which is why water is tasteless after the RO process so manufacture thought of adding this another cartilages after the RO stages to introduce mineral into the water. Like the one show below. View Details
DO we really need the RO process?
Ans: i would say yes and no depending on your answer , say you are using boring well then yes get the RO+UV one and if you staying next to industrial area then compulsory i would say get a RO+UV filter. The Indian standard of inspection we all know, so we have to be on safer side. Even boiling water can't get rid of the chemcial that could have gotten mixed in your drinking water, you never know.
Now the main question arises
Which One Should One Go For A Branded One Or A Local Made ?
I would recommend you a local product if you like to save some bucks or if you have some money to spend then go for PureIt , or from Eureka. After the cartilages get clogged up you could ask your local plumbing guy to bypass it and make it direct with the UV filtration process. Like the show below in red mark. Every water filter has stages, it is easier to do yourself if its a local-made product and a bit difficult if you are going for a branded one.
Do we really need to test our water before getting a purifier ?
Ans : i would say no, the testing charges with Us are starting at Rs.1000 , you could invest that amount in purchasing a filter UV+RO filter. Anyways if you still want to test your water please read below the different test that we have I am a person looking for installating a system at my office/org , what would you recommend?
Ans : i would say go for the below show filter Aquadpure 50 LPH Commercial RO Water Purifier Plant/Filter Double Purification 50 litre per hour TDS
Microbiology Analysis of water
: This test is critical as nearness of pathogenic microflora are the major dependable elements for different clinical unsettling influences. This microbiology testing incorporates for 2 parameters. In a perfect world this ought to be NIL in any water tried for well being. Both subjective and quantitative examination of parameters under this board are accessible. The cost for this particular package of water testing is Rs.1000/-
The 2 Parameter are :
- E.coli bacteria
- Total coliform bacteria
: This Package basically includes Physical , Chemical & Element testing of water. It has a total of 28 parameters.
Details of the parameters can be found below. The cost for this package of water testing is Rs.1500/-
: This Package basically includes Physical , Chemical , Element & Microbiology
testing of water. It has a total of 30 parameters.
Details of the parameters can be found below. The cost for this package of water testing is Rs.2000/-
: This Package basically includes Physical , Chemical , Element , Microbiology & Pesticide
testing of water. It has a total of 46 parameters.
Details of the parameters can be found below. The cost for this package of water testing is Rs.2500/-
: This Package basically includes Physical , Chemical , Element , Microbiology , Pesticide & Volatile Organic Compounds
testing of water (Complete Package). It has a total of 65 parameters.
Details of the parameters can be found below. The cost for this package of water testing is Rs.3500/-
PC or Physical & Chemical
: This testing panel includes multiple parameters for physical and chemical analysis of water by Robotic Analyzer and CFA technology. A total of 12 parameters are analyzed under this criteria, other than taste and odour. The cost for this package of water testing is Rs.1000/-
The Parmeters of Physical Tests are :
- Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)
The Parameters of Chemicals Tests are :
- Total hardness
Element Analysis of water :
Elements though an essential as micronutrients for many biological functions, their abnormal levels in the human body can affect many critical body processes. This panel analyzes for a total of 16 toxic elements in the water samples by the most robust technology - Inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), touted to be the best for elemental analysis. The cost for this package of water testing is Rs.1000/-
- Iron (Fe)
- Calcium (Ca)
- Copper (Cu)
- Chromium (Cr6+)
- Manganese (Mn)
- Magnesium (Mg)
- Mercury (Hg)
- Cadmium (Cd)
- Molybdenum (Mo)
- Selenium (Se)
- Arsenic (As)
- Lead (Pb)
- Zinc (Zn)
- Aluminium (Al)
- Nickel (Ni)
- Boron (B)
Pesticides Testing of water :
Testing for pesticides is done using the most sensitive analytical technology of Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). A total of 16 parameters are being estimated in water under this category. These are majorly organophosphates and carbamates which cause serious health hazards and affect the nervous and endocrine systems of the body. Some are also postulated to be carcinogenic in nature. The cost for this package of water testing is Rs.2290/-
- Alpha HCH
- Delta HCH
- Gamma HCH
- Methyl parathion
Volatile Organic Compounds Testing :
Testing for VOCs is essential as the presence of these can also be detected in packaged drinking water. Most of the testing facilities do not include a comprehensive menu under this category. However, in Whaters, a total of 19 VOCs analysis have been made available to be tested, using the technology of GC-FID.Drinking water is one of the most potential sources for ingestion of VOC. These are very toxic to the human body and can damage the nervous system, liver as well as the kidneys. They can cause skin irritation and are powerful carcinogens. Hence testing for a wide panel of these, is extremely imperative to include the most commonly encountered VOC with respect to drinking water. The cost for this package of water testing is Rs.2000/-
